From the Sky to Orbit: The Crucial Role of FEM Simulations in Aerospace
Why FEM simulations in aerospace have become essential: how engineers predict stresses, fatigue and thermal distortion before the prototype.
Read the articlePasquale Papa has spent twenty years inside aerospace programmes, on the side of those who have to prove that a structure holds. In fact, he has built finite element models for primary and secondary components and developed structural calculation tools. He has also written aircraft monitoring software, programmed CNC machines and designed manufacturing tooling.

For many years he worked as a consultant for different companies in the sector. As a result, he followed projects at every stage: first modelling, then configuration and finally industrialisation. This variety gave him a complete view, which he now brings to SIM4FLIGHT programmes.
His main tool is the finite element method, which he has used since models were still built by hand, node by node. For this reason, he knows both the theory and the practical limits of a model.
Anyone who has worked on analysis and on the shop floor knows where a model departs from reality. Think of tolerances, assembly sequences and tooling constraints. That is why Pasquale Papa leads structural analysis and numerical simulation at SIM4FLIGHT, on helicopters, satellites and ground equipment.
He also works directly with clients when fast technical decisions are needed, as on the AW09 programme. If you want to talk to him, write to us from the contact page.
Outside the office, he still follows new solvers and methods closely, because the tools change quickly and clients expect up-to-date answers.
Tell us about your programme: we will call you back to see how we can support you.
An engineer will reply within one working day.
